Want to build your career in business but need a study option that fits around work and life? Our FdA Business Management (Evening) degree delivers the same high‑quality content as the daytime course, taught in a flexible format designed for busy learners.

You’ll gain a solid grounding in key business areas such as marketing, finance, leadership and management, while applying your learning to real industry projects. Previous students have worked on live briefs with organisations such as Citizens Advice Gateshead and Elanders, and have secured work experience opportunities with major employers including Sage.

You’ll also hear from guest speakers like Carl Swansbury, Head of Corporate Finance at Ryecroft Glen, who brings valuable industry insight straight into the classroom.
Developed with input from local and national employers, this evening programme helps you build the practical skills and confidence needed for progression into management roles or further study, including honours or master's-level pathways, all without interrupting your daytime commitments.

This degree is an approved Higher Technical Qualification quality‑marked by Skills England.

Entry requirements

64 UCAS points (in a related Business and/or Management subject).

You may be asked to attend an interview before being offered a place on the course (this interview will be at the discretion of the Business department staff).

If you are a current Newcastle College student and you successfully meet the published Level 3 entry criteria in an appropriate subject[s], you will be guaranteed a place on this course.

Applicants are normally expected to have achieved grade 4 or higher in GCSE Maths and English Language or the Level 2 equivalents (i.e. Functional Skills or Adult Literacy/Numeracy).

At Newcastle College University Centre we welcome applications from students studying new T-Level qualifications.

Work experience

During this degree you will work on live briefs from a range of employers, collaborate with industry professionals on a variety of activities to understand current issues in a complex business climate. You will also have the opportunity to work with businesses such as Elanders, SGS and Barclays, widening your experience of working with employers. These opportunities will provide you with the knowledge and skills to become informed, confident and successful employees, managers and entrepreneurs.
